wooden

Wednesday, July 27, 2011

So, I'm a little in love with wooden accessories at the moment and I think it's pretty fresh for a trend - something new and exciting, you know?
(I know the shoes aren't revolutionary but I love the color of wood used)

Say 'No' to typing extra words

Wednesday, March 23, 2011

I'm glad that so many of you are Team Anti-Word Verification with me! There was an overwhelming response to this post where I addressed it - so in case you want to be an anti-word verification ambassador, Diana (of Poppy Brew fame) created this prohibition-esque little button if you want it for your blog, isn't it a beauty?

So stand strong people! Think of what we can do with all that extra time, Right?! Give your readers back 15 seconds of their day! An accumulated 1 minute and 5 seconds per week and like...the total of an hour per blog in a year! Life is too short for Word Ver!

(This is all in good fun of course. Kind of. Obviously if google killed it I would be ecstatic)

What would you do with all those extra hours if everyone shut down word ver??

*We are still friends if you have it, I definitely understand if you've been spammed and are sick of it.

* Read Diana's post that highlights some specific things she could be doing. Word.

Facebook and Your Blog

Tuesday, March 15, 2011

If I wasn't sold on having a Facebook page for your blog when I signed up for it a few months back, I am now. Facebook has rolled out some changes fairly recently that let you use Facebook as your page as opposed to as yourself or...your personal account.  For example, when I am using FB as Village and I like a new page or comment on a status update - it tells them that "Village" liked them or that "Village" left them a comment on their status.  For me, it's a great way to keep my blog happenings separate from my regular FB page, which appeals to me.  I also like it because I know when I am interacting with a blog friend - they know who more clearly than if a random girl named Krystal said something to them :)

How to use Facebook as your blog page:
1. Click "Account" in upper right hand corner
2. Select "Use Facebook as Page"
3. On the box that pops up, click "Switch"
4. Voila, you are now using FB as your blog page.
Happy interacting!

Do you have a Facebook page for your blog? Let me know so I can connect with you. Here's mine!

(P.S. You can switch back at any time :))

Did you know...that there is a website called Poolga where you can download free artsy wallpapers for your iPhones and other i-gadgets? Yep, I just spent about 40 minutes flipping through and downloading some great ones like the ones above! (Beware: time vacuum)

I am for real crushing on these vintage lap top cases from Motel Vintage. The price is very reasonable too!

I've never really given the World Cup a thought - but now that I'm living in Switzerland it is hard not to! My little town just decorated itself with flags and Marks work colleagues are putting up all of their home country flags around their offices. Anyway I saw these iPhone covers so you can represent! Plus, this website lets you upload your own artwork to make a custom iPhone cover. I thought a Swiss one might be kind of cool for when I move back to the US someday...but I definitely will revert back to a Blackberry and I'd just look like a lifeguard anyway =)
Are you team iPhone or Blackberry?

These rainbow decals are something that I would totally buy if I had a Mac. Weirdly the shop closed since this article was published, though!
