In case you missed the Photo Challenge - it was a 20 day picture taking challenge that I and several other people took part in. It's been so fun to see all of their pictures - and some are still in the process of finishing. I've taken to rounding each days 'challenge' up in a collage so that we can all see them together. It is always neat to see so many different perspectives in one group!

I'll be basking in the sun at the beach today with my girl - it's supposed to rain for the whole next week! Then throwing a World Cup party tomorrow for the final - I can't even wait - the Spain team is, you know, extremely pleasing to look at...

A couple of days ago the airspace above my flat was insanely busy. There is a small runway a few miles from us that is used by a few different companies here. There were all kinds of planes - including these bi-wing planes with real people strapped on the top of them!! Now, I hate planes but riding on top of one of those planes is now on my to do list!! Anyway, this is a picture of the jets who were doing all kinds of very cool formations - Every time I would hear them I would run out there to try out my 55-200mm lens =)

Also...I wanted to officially do a round up of everyone's Day 1 photos from the photo challenge I've been doing (A Picture of Yourself). All of these pictures are so awesome and I love the variety - I love that they are each so very different - from candid to artistic to pics of when they were little to silly - I've so been loving "meeting" and learning more about everyone who has been doing this challenge!

This was tough because I wasn't sure if I was posting the oldest picture from a camera that I have or oldest picture year? I scanned this awhile ago at some point. I adore this picture - it's my grandma and grandpa in Germany with my mom in 1964. Him and his dad (my great grandpa) were my #1 hero's growing up - and my grandpa was like a father to me and my grandma is gorgeous and I talk to her multiple times throughout the week. It's sad living so far away from them! I could go on and on!

I love taking pictures of trains. This was from my iPhone - sometimes my iPhone camera surprises me, sometimes I have to really fix the pictures. I like this one as is =)

Well, since I'm not working yet here in Switzerland, I don't really have a commute...but I did take this while I was riding my bike home from the grocery store today (from my iphone). Someday I will have a commute - (a long one to find an English speaking company to work for) =)
P.S. I can't tell you how happy I am that blogger has an 'undo' button - I can't count how many times I accidentally delete entire posts!

This picture is breathtaking.
I think it even speaks for itself...
but I hope to capture an incredible moment like this in my own picture taking someday.

 I was also excited to share it because this lovely couple is amongst our newest friends in Switzerland - She's quickly become one of my best friends and we have so much in common. I love this girl...I'm so lucky to have met her, she's made living here that much better!

P.S. Have you ever seen swimming pigs? Her last blog post of their honeymoon has a picture of them and it's the funniest thing I've ever seen - they swam right up to their boat!

Day 04 - A picture of where you went today

So earlier I was all, "Mark, we need to go somewhere so I can take a cool picture! For my blog! So they think I have a life!"
But then we didn't (so far)...so this is my home address =)
Did you know that all the shops (besides the ones at the train stations) are closed in Switzerland on Sundays? It's supposed to be a family day so everyone spends it outside. But...I'm not sure what they do on rainy Sundays like today. So I slept in, read, convinced M to do power yoga with me, studied German, and now I'm fighting off a rainy Sunday afternoon nap.

I love the weird feel of this!

And Speaking of beaches, does anyone else have the summer buzz? I sure do - all I want to do is be out in the sun with friends, etc! Fortunately I got some awesome bathing suits last summer so my budget doesn't have to take the bathing suit hit this year (what is the deal with bathing suit prices?) but it doesn't stop me from looking at all of them. Here's some of my favorites!
