Guest Post: B for Bel

Thursday, November 17, 2011

Hi, everyone! I'm Belinda and I blog (compulsively) over at B for Bel.

I'm so glad to be guest posting on Krystal's blog today because I've been a reader for a long time now and have always admired her taste and the inspiring things she posts.

Which is why, when I came across these collections of super unique, but undeniably chic, jewelry, I knew it had to be shared with other people who enjoyed them as much as I did- other Village readers! :)

A couple of months ago, I blogged about cufflinks made from real bullet casings that would make a perfect gift for the boys. But a few weeks later, I discovered this collection of jewelry from Bullet Girl that is also made from real bullet casings, but boasts an extremely feminine, wearable and tasteful flair.

Bullet Casings Jewelry

  1. .45 AUTO rhodiumplated with CZ cappinky ring
  2. .357 MAG caps with CZ flower cluster on pearl strand choker
  3. 44” pearl strand with .223 REM CZ cap and .17 MM cap flower necklace
  4. .223 REM 24k gold plated bullet necklace
  5. .357 MAG rhodium plated bullet with CZcap bracelet
  6. .357 MAG 24kgold plated capflower earrings
  7. .357 MAG rhodiumplated CZ capchain necklace

These are just a few of my favourites, but you can check out more on the website.

I'm a huge admirer of beautiful jewelry, but most of the time, I prefer to stick to simple lines and sentimentality. And I know I would just DIE if I received these morse code necklaces from anyone! These necklaces by COATT spell out affectionate words in morse code and are versatile enough to be worn everyday.

Pasta Jewelry
You know that Dolce & Gabanna is a true fashion giant when they can turn uncooked pasta into a fashion statement.

I have to say, I'm not hating it! Especially not when there are these silver and gold versions created by fellow Melbourne designers, Lucy Folk. Food jewelry may come off as tacky if not balanced well, but these accessories have done the pasta trend justice.

Or, if pasta is simply not your thing, you just may find gold in the form of pretzels, popcorn, Nachos, and other crumby snacks you never imagined wearing around your neck. Until now.

I hope you enjoyed these collections!

If you're looking for other curiously delightful design, art, photography, food and much more, come say hello at B for Bel! I would love to meet you.

Thanks for having me, Krystal! :)

Switzerland Sunday and one more thing

Sunday, November 21, 2010

I saw this ad wrapped around a...something...downtown Luzern.
I like it =)

Also, today I got to be part of Ren's (Lady of the Arts) series called "Around the World" in which she has bloggers feature 4 different photos showcase inside their home, outside, their creative space and a Wildcard - all with the intention of "stimulating dialogue and promoting creativity". It's one of my favorite series floating around now - To see mine, click it!

A Thanksgiving Guest Post

Friday, November 12, 2010

I was super excited when Reni at My So-Called Life asked if I'd do a Thanksgiving interview for her series of "What are you thankful for" in honor of Thanksgiving.  I love that she's all in the Thanksgiving spirit (and I'm admittedly already creating Christmas lists)!
If you are so inclined, you can head over to read about my super boot-leg T-giving dinner last year and other randomness =)
Here!

(not sure I could have used the word "Thanksgiving" more, right? Thanksgiving Thanksgiving Thanksgiving!)

Bandada Rings

Tuesday, July 6, 2010

I love this simple but interesting ring that I found at Supermarket.
The designers behind this ring also started out as graphic designers...
moral of my last 2 posts - graphic designers make amazing fashion designers?
~~~
I'll be back in the blog game for real tomorrow...can't wait to see what you all have been up to :) We've been crazy busy with some visitors but having the best times ever!
~~~
P.S. So Blair, at Wild & Precious, collected some pictures of when we were little...you have to go see my devil picture...I cannot believe my mother put me in this costume for Halloween!  Go see it here =)
