Luzern Lamp by Hugo Kretz (again, I know)
Wednesday, October 5, 2011
I Last week I guest posted at Life and It's Other Drugs about our new lamp that is a panorama picture of luzern - you can read why we got it and what it means to us on her blog. I'm posting about it here too because..well, it's my blog and I can ;) I did want to draw more attention to the artist though - Hugo Kretz. He has a line of designs from the past year that I'm dreaming of purchasing. I love his idea of "responsible design", or, "solid things that last". He says,
"The design resist trends, with the risk of being understated or even boring. However, the clear goal in my mind is that they are designs which can be enjoyed by their owners now and well in to the future".Well said! (Although, I'm pretty sure the lamp is the least boring thing I've ever purchased :)) (there is one of sydney also, and plans for more..)

Door mat: need this so bad!
Monday, October 3, 2011

Oh you have no idea how many times I look up to see the train conductor step in to my car to check tickets and then immediately...sinking feeling in chest and stomach because I forgot my wallet and it's so so so embarassing because everyone thinks you are trying to ride free. This has happened way too often for me - SO instead of just trying to be responsible and remembering my wallet I'm ordering this instead!

Country Kitchens, a Guest Post by Branda
Monday, September 26, 2011
Today I'm really happy to have Mariana and Paula from Branda guest post here. They are the sweetest and have been a long time sponsor of Village - I really hope you enjoy this post, I think they worked hard to make it!! You can find them at their blog, The 4 in One or on Twitter and Facebook!
Who never dreamed of having one of those farm kitchens, smelling freshly baked cake and a steaming cup of coffee? The kitchen in the photo is just the one of those dreams, with shelves full of copper pans, old utensils, wooden spoons, enameled pots, spice racks and thousands of objects that have much to tell. Here are some must have suggestions.

Fresco Towels
Thursday, June 9, 2011
In my years and years of living, I've never felt so strongly about towels (except for my awesome lisa frank beach towel in middle school of course) but these Fresco towels are pretty awesome and they mutually want to be in my bathroom, I'm pretty sure.

Apartments/Decor

This apartment melts my heart. The parquet flooring is what does me in.

P.S Thank you to Ana from Live and Enliven Designs for my new header!! I finally gave it up to the professionals =) She was amazing to work with and SO patient (which is a good thing because I might win the pickiest client award!). I'd definitely encourage you to check out her work, I love everything she touches. Thanks ana!
P.S.S. Today I did a guest post about me and moving to Switzerland over at Simply Colette if you want to check it out.
We instantly bonded because Switzerland happens to be one of her favorite places and she does photography getaways here! Also, she was just in London for the royal wedding and shared some awesome pictures...she's such a cool girl :)

Rooms in Helsinki
Tuesday, April 12, 2011
I feel like these rooms are a prime example of investing in things that you love, minimalism and surrounding yourself with carefully curated items - something I'm working on. And now that we'll be moving to a new flat in the city, I am a sponge for decorating options and changing some things up! (not sure I love that term - "sponge", but anyway)
{My recent purchases towards this goal are here}

So, I'm working on Roma pics...but now is a good time to vent that Picasa randomly deleted all of the pictures I uploaded from my camera from Rome - and they are nowhere to be found. Like, not even in the trashcan. WTH. So, I must re do it all. happy monday bye!
