I think sometimes a life living in a foreign country can start to feel tiresome. In some cases (my case) you've moved away from a place where you've grown roots, where you know who you are and what you mean to people. You invest in people and vice versa because you're probably going to be there awhile. And then you move to a foreign country and who knows what awaits you and you spend all this time and energy creating new friendships but all the time knowing that they might not be around for forever and you might not either so your grasp seems limited. That's not to say that I haven't made some amazing friends and met some very special people - those that I know I won't lost contact with, but for some I know its temporary and that can feel old after awhile.

Anyway, all of that to say that I just spent two weeks in the USA spending (not enough) time with family and friends and it was incredible. I am back in Switzerland now and on one hand I feel so incredibly sad to have left (there were a lot of tears) but on the other I feel so re-charged and the word 'nourished' comes to mind. It was such a good reminder of who I am and I'm happy to feel more grounded (and maybe 10 times more homesick).

Happy w/e to you all....it is crazy nice in Luzern and is making me a little over the top excited about summer and finally getting to swim in the lake!! I walked over to the farmers market today and still looking forward to running in shorts, bbq'ing, sitting along the river with drinks..and maintaining my denial that i'll have to return to work on monday. i can't believe i even said that! I need to start playing the lottery...

So fun when friendos send me things that make them think of me (it's what happens when you're a crazy obsessive person over a SHAPE i guess) but I thought these were cool and should be shared. Thanks Tiffany!

And maybe another love I have lately is all things metallic/goldish and I nearly lost my mind over these shoes and they were SUPPOSED to be on amazon but they are NOT the same ones and I'm tired of unrequited love.

This is on the verge of making me annoyed with Fashion crazes/fads...it's a half untucked shirt...I don't know...cute fad or just another way to wear a shirt?

And now for the weirdest thing I've read in awhile...there is this article called Working Out and Addiction - The Scary Connection on Refinery 29 which basically states that those of us who work out are more susceptible to addiction because when a study was done with coke addicts, one way to break their habit was introducing them to exercise. But it was hopeless if they already did it. WHAT?! So we should stop exercising RIGHT NOW in case someday we decide to become addicted to coke. I thought this should be a special alert.

I love these rare photos of the Titanic. I hope you guys all had a good w/e...I played bartender at my favorite pub on Friday night (you might see a lot of pics of me on that page! like it!) - it was BUSY. Then ran some errands around lovely Luzern Saturday morning...then got SICK as a dog. Another flu, wth! I'm home sick today but on the mend thankfully.

OHHH and I've booked tickets to visit the US! I'm so excited. I am needing to recharge with old friends and family, I can't wait to be surrounded by so much loooooove, be taken care of by my grandparents, sister trip to FL to visit my momma (and the beaches), spend some quality times with my soulmate friends in IA and MI that I miss so much. I. can't. wait.

And happy easter weekend to you! We get a 4 day weekend here in Switz and instead of traveling somewhere we are using it as an opportunity to enjoy our couch, cook some good food, do some exercising, hang out with the brown dog, etc...it's been rainy too which adds to the awesomeness of staying in the apartment!! We did go to ikea..does anyone else come back with the same things everytime? I always come back with candles, plants and picture frames..always.

Dude you guys, the weather in Switzerland is turning nice...like enjoy a beverage at a cafe along the river in the sun type of nice. My favorite!

Oh hi! I have a blog? what!? I'm sorry for my absence, for real. I've been sick ALL month long - 2 flu's and a cough that won't go away and it keeps me up at night and then I'm so tired by the time I get home from work and keeping up with everything got very overwhelming. I'm still having some fun though, don't worry!

and I also still like triangles, I haven't changed much in a month!!!

Life is good, ya'll. How is your new year going? I'm still getting in to the swing of things after vacation, new years and being sick for FOREVER. I'll be visiting you soon! But for now I'm enjoying my new laptop and I just ate a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup for the first time in years....life is good.

P.S. Finally got all the pics today from our trip, the above is one of my favorite memories from Gran Canaria...5 hour mtn bike trip, leche leche at the top of a climb, cool breezes when leaning over the edge of the valleys...getting a boost up a hill by the boys...good times!

Happy 2012!!! What does one even write for the first post of the year? Gran Canaria was amazing (pics soon). So far my 2012 has been...bartending at my fave bar to bring in the new year, lots of kisses and prosecco at midnight, dancing until 8, recovering, first day of work and FLU! which is where I'm at now...so lame.

Also, I have an important piece of advice - do not bring your laptop bag to a bar...someone might spill a drink in it and you might visit your apple store with a hopeful heart only to find that it's unrecoverable and then you'll be buying a new laptop thinking you should have just gone to bed (that might be my new motto this year). Aaaand that is why it's quiet around here. Should hopefully have a new one by this weekend and then its back to business, peeps.

I'm happy to have finally gotten around to blowing up one of my photos, framing and having Mark hang it up. It's all broody and lovely and makes me happy to see it.

Watching my friends come over and trying to resist popping a day in my bubble calendar. Funny story - my favorite designer ever had to come over to to change something in the lamp - I let him pop one of the bonus ones! It's a huge honor if it's bestowed on you. Also, it's teaching me a lot of lessons in self-restraint.

My beautiful friend and the most heart warming Christmas lunch that she prepared for a couple of us girls...(listen to how sappy I am!) We even got to decorate her Christmas tree which made me giddy since I don't have one! Another day I'll have to share the most thoughtful cool gifts she made for us. (Thanks Jen!)

A trip to Strassbourg to visit the Christmas markets with two of my favorite partners in crime.

And this, friends, is what I'm loving lately.
