Old Fashioned

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

Besides a gin with gin with ginger ale, hugos, white wine gespritzes (what is this in english?), beer, prosecco (oh heck, i'll drink anything) this is one of my new favorite summer drinks. it is so. good. have you had an old fashioned? I tried one for the first time recently and then saw this and got all excited. Plus, that quote totally fits sometimes ;) What is your summer drink?

P.S. An article in slight defense of Miss Utah (I kind of like this article...its easy to make fun of a pageant contestant, but who hasn't had a moment like this? And seriously...the way NeNe asked the question I couldn't even concentrate properly...)

I LOVE margaritas in the summertime. YUM!

While I don't "feel bad" for Miss Utah..I totally agree that we have ALL had moments of total stupidity. When I used to try out for cheerleading for the NFL..they staged it alot like a beauty pageant and we had to answer questions onstage..One year I just blanked..like seriously could not form a sentence...Something came out of my mouth eventually and I made the team BUT I sounded like an idiot and I am not an idiot.
Hope you are well pretty girl...and your beautiful boy is doing great!!! C

White wine spritzer!! I love that you have forgotten what it's called in English. That is a drink I enjoy, but I also love a Campari spritzer (1 part soda, 2 parts Campari, 3 parts prosecco)!

I want to try one! I felt bad for Miss Utah, everyone gets nervous now and then.

I agree with you and Wendy! Stage farts are the worst and I can't imagine if I would have been any more articulate if I had been up there.

I LOVE prosecco in the summertime -- it feels so crisp. Old fashioneds tend to run a little strong for my liking, but I love hearing people order them.

Hehe, that is a great quote!

And poor Utah. I don't think I could have given an answer to that question with only five seconds to think about it on national television. Plus, she's kind of right, it does have to do with education, because these under paid breadwinning women they are talking about are not lawyers, they are working at wal-mart or rent-a-center or other places with hyphens in the names.

White wine, whisky sours and Pimms - those are my summer drinks. Right now, it's all hot chocolate and red wine for winter

Last summer the hubby introduced me to Stella Artois and I love it! I used to be only a red stripe beer kind of girl(can u guess why.:-)). Anyway, I'll have to try this old fashion stuff. I didn't see the pageant, bu was watching the Today's show where they showed a clip. Nene prbly made her nervous...

I stick to the same drinks all year long: Martini Bianco, Gin Tonic and wine...

poor girls... she's been ridiculed by everyone... I want to see all the critics under such pressure trying to answer that question.

love an old fashioned and that poster of it is grand!

What's a hugo? Oh, I just googled it - you're so fancy! I'm pretty much drinking cough syrup over here.

I always think Pimms is a nice summer drink, and I also really love lambrusco even though I think a lot of people look down on it for some reason. I don't understand wine.
