fo real? these earrings are from charlotte russe? hi brandi, rlc, etc any of my other lovely friends who want to mail me something in switzerland, here is a good idea!!! ;)

p.s do you remember me? i barely do...who knew taking care of someone who basically just eats and sleeps could be so time consuming?? it's basically like a 24/7 video game called "keep baby from crying"...I"m getting pretty good at it...thinking i've advanced a couple of levels. And actually, Marks family (mom and two sisters) are here for a couple weeks helping out, so basically this post is sponsored by them because things are under control in my flat for the first time in a few weeks. extra baby holding arms are great :)

Pedestrian Penalty Cards

These are genius. Because my road rage from the US has transferred to pedestrian rage in Switzerland since I walk everywhere...So when I saw this website, Pedestrian Penalty Cards, my rage-y heart laughed. an evil laugh.

HEY! this is Wesley - he is new here!! I don't know what else to say! But his (adorable) expression in the first picture is pretty much how I feel...because I have a baby now (what?) and nothing prepares you for this business...
(he was born on the 5th)
p.s. feel free to throw some advice my way
p.s.s. i have a new found respect for mothers
p.s.s.s. he is amazing.
p.s.s.s.s. he is some serious competition for bama in the cute dept. just saying.

p.s.s.s.s.s. i think when you do p.s's it's actually supposed to be p.p.s, p.p.p.s but i'm not going to change it.

also, don't forget the current Diary Sketches giveaway!

Diary Sketches

Today I'm joining with Laura, of Diary Sketches, to offer you a print of your choice from her shop! She recently decided to bring her hobby to Etsy - it's always exciting when someone pushes their talents further in this way (so congrats to you Laura!).  She has such fun whimsical artwork...I think I would choose the Stay Strong print (above) and send it to someone who needs cheering up - or the Be You print for a cute little girl I know. Good luck!

New photo artist fave: Out My Window

I'm already fascinated with glancing in to windows when I'm walking around the neighborhood at night (that sounds super creepy...but you know what I mean, right?) - there's always been something about getting a glimpse of someone else's life - so obviously this photo book is amazing to me. Granted, her photos are staged but it is still applicable to the an interview with the photographer, Gail Albert Halaban about her photo book, Out My Window at Life & Times.

P.S. happy monday!

Future baby E's room...

I've had some requests for baby room photos so here are a few. I was definitely not a hyper nursery room planner (or impending baby planner in general)...I think most of the room was thrown together in the past few weeks! I'd like to think that if future baby is anything like us, he'll like it ;)

Helen Beard

The toothbrush holders just get me somewhere, I don't know - nothing makes sense anymore! j/k. I love the art, there is something so innocent and fresh about it. And then there's the huge decorated flower pot that I would keep filled all year round I am sure. Artist Helen Beard describes her work like this,
"Looking at people, their actions and their surroundings, I illustrate the funny things from the way we live that bring humour and joy."
This definitely shows and it makes me happy to see :)

P.S. Come back for the next post: pictures of future baby e's room ;)

Farm Brunch

Youuuuu guys, I did this activity on August 1st. And it is now the end of September and I'm getting around to telling you about it - what is my deal???
I'd let it go to archives somewhere, BUT, it's one of the yummiest/most delightful mornings I've had in Switzerland so far - and I actually made the effort to take some pictures so I could share the experience.
So, August 1st is Swiss National Day, like the 4th of July - and farmers and farms around the country open their doors/barns/farms to host these magnificent fresh from the farm brunches to celebrate. Like, this was the best meal I've ever eaten here...and they served the coffee in BOWLS. That was the best part for some reason, I thought it was so neat. I haven't replicated this at home yet though, I don't think it would come off nearly as cool in my own kitchen.
Anyway...enjoy le photos. I won't talk your ear off about it, just to was delicious. And only 10 more months until I can do it again!
