Pictures from the Week

Friday, August 5, 2011

Some random pictures from the week, out by the lake, BBQ'ing and swimming! One of my favorite things about German speakers is that they use the verb "to make" a ton - so when our friend asks us to come bbq he says "do you want to make a bbq" and I think it is the coolest. That's all I wanted to share. Have a good weekend you guys - I'm going to make a bbq, make a party, and some other things including purchasing our anniversary present to ourselves...can't wait to share that one :) and you?

I love it--there is so much to be gathered from other cultures. Two of my most fave blog meet ups to date have been with a couple from Germany and then last night with a couple who live in Chicago, but the husband is from Ukraine. The language intricacies hold my attention like no other. Woot!

this looks like such a fun weekend! and i love the idea of making a party, after all it is the people who count! in southern africa we use the phrase 'make a plan' when you want to do something - 'lets make a plan to go to the pool'. I love the idea of making a plan, but no one in the uk gets it!

Blimey if I made a BBQ every time we had a BBQ, I would end up with a lot of BBQs littering the old homestead…

For us this weekend it’s the last part of Harry Potter tonight and then Good Charlotte tomorrow night at the Shepherds Bush Empire, enjoy your party

I've never been to the lake, just the beach. But the lake looks so much fun. It seems like there's a lot to do there.

I love having barbeques! It's the best.

I loved these pictures.Yes, it's funny when the literal translations are interpreted. I always thought my grandmother would chop up her English when she spoke, but later found out that it was because she was speaking German correctly. lol Enjoy your weekend dear.

My sister is actually taking German just because she loves how it sounds. I don't think she'll ever use the language in her lifetime but the fun she has practicing is hilarious. Love Love lazy days on the lake and always love love to make a good bbq.

Would love to 'make a BBQ' any time any where! I can only imagine what my (limited) French must've sounded like in France. Awful, would be pretty close!
