Recent Purchases

I've been really careful lately to only purchase things that I truly adore - that are timeless and that inspire me. If they are going to decorate me or my living space, I want them to be a reflection of my taste and aesthetic.  I'm just exhausted with waste and flash-in-the-pan fashions, you know?  It's harder with clothes because I'm lured by 'deals' and impetuousness - but I am giving it a good effort.

These little golden earrings are the first things that I purchased in 2011 and are a souvenir from a day trip to Strasbourg, France with my friend. I got them at the market in a city square and have worn them almost every day since, seriously. I'd say I've gotten my 9 euros from them? Then, a few days ago, I found this old looking champagne bucket from a thrift store in Luzern and rescued it from a shelf with all these weird looking containers - only 7chf!
Have you found anything amazing lately?

Those earrings are really sweet and I bet they look adorable on you, darling. Last week I got a set of vintage tea cups on a local market. Each is totally different:) Kisses and have a great Tuesday

Really like the earrings, and REALLY like the bucket! I think I have to adopt your way of shopping: only buy things that I absolutely HAVE to have :)

Cheers for a great tip! Now the only thing I have to do about it is try to live by it!

Those earrings are great, classic and timeless - I also think you will be able to wear them for years. I feel the same way about waste. I'm cleaning out some closets and getting rid of so much it's really making me think long and hard before I buy.

No recent purchases for me. I've put a little ban on myself, since I noticed I was shopping almost every weekend. Quality over quantity is a good motto.

I couldn't agree more with being exhausted with waste and flash-in-the-pan fashions. Sometimes I want to just scrap my entire wardrobe and get 4 or 5 outfits. Simple. Classic.

Love the earrings!

I really like the earrings. I've gotten into the same habit or only buying things that are timeless. It's so easy to fall into trendy traps!

I've been trying to be more careful with purchases too- I really liked this leather wallet I saw on my recent trip and now I'm bummed I didn't get it. It would've been a nice souvenir too like your earrings...oh well, I guess that means I must revisit ;)

That is great you are trying to only purchase timeless things taht you truly adore. I was just thinking about all the $ I've spent on clothes & things I don't even use want or need.

And great use out of your cute gold earings. My gf got me a necklace made from etsy that says strength it's small & sterling silver, I wear it almost everyday, I love it--those buys are worth it indeed.

I love the champagne bucket, perhaps b/c I love champage but I also really do like the bucket, great find!

The fact you wear those earrings almost every day indicates they are classics. If everyone considered the 'true' cost of clothing and consumer items people would go back to less and beautifully made. It feels good.
