2/25/10 - Luzern

I took this picture outside of the train station in Luzern. Luzern has to be one of my favorite cities ever and I'm so lucky to be living so near to it (and hopefully in it soon!). It's beautiful - a photographers dream...well, this photographers dream, anyway =) Now that the weather is warmer I can't wait to spend days there with my camera!

The Lovelist, I have neglected  you for the past few days :( But, I have cleaned out my reader and went on some escapades so I think I have enough material to make my blog happy this week =) or tonight...what would you do if you looked and had like, 18 or so entries from this blog?! do you guys use a Reader? I don't know how I could read as many blogs as I do without one!

Alright, so a few posts back I asked two questions. First one - What would be your perfect Valentine's Day gift? And, second, what are you doing for your significan't other? Valentine's day is almost here! So here is a glimpse in to how some other bloggers are celebrating!

• Metropolitan Mum is being whisked away to a tropical vacation in the Carribean (jealous much?) - I hope you have a LOVELY romantic time!! And...now, that's an idea!
• Kelly's (Kelly Leigh Gets Busy) perfect gift would be a set of oil paints so that she can DIY some artwork for their house...specifically for the new house they will be searching for on Valentine's Day! Good luck! <3
• Elizabeth @ E Tells Tales's perfect gift would be a Kindle. And for her love, she will be making breakfast for dinner with his favorite Key Lime Pie for dessert =)
• And me? My perfect gift would be a bouqet of beautiful tulips and a nice dinner out and jewelry. I'm just saying...ideally, here :) I'm planning on making my young man his favorite breakfast - homemade Swedish Pancakes =) He will know of my love through my sacrifice of waking up early to do this :p

My poor little thin wallet can barely close because all of my Swiss Franc coins :( I need a coin purse stat or else I'm going to have to start paying with them! That would be easy when I can correctly identify each one - but I'm still getting used to it and I'd end up standing there forever while I figure out exact change =) These coin purses are gorgeous...I wish I could buy them all! Now I just have to choose...

Under My Umbrella-ella! (sorry, I had to!)

I LOVE the rain. I love it. If I had the choice, I'd rather have a rainy day =) (don't hate). Of course, if it's rainy for 2 weeks I might look forward to the sun. Maybe it's why I love umbrella's. In fact, I just ordered the cutest ever umbrella from Urban Outfitters and a visitor schlepped it all the way over here from the US and I left it on the bus! After only my 2nd time using it!!! After I told 2 people with me to not let me forget it!!!!!! (ok deep breath) So it's back to my huge orange one (courtesy of the Insurance office - be jealous) until I can scout out the perfect umbrella. Here are some from Gilt Fuse that I'm loving. Man on Wire & Let the Great World Spin

"Man on Wire" was one of the most memorable documentaries that I've seen.  It was moving to watch a man carry out a dream that he had been so passionate about since he was a young boy....If you are in to documentaries I would recommend it.

I then stumbled across a book called "Let the Great World Spin" that centers around this story but digs a little deeper to the twin emotions of love and loss. This is going on my reading list - for sure =)

My favorite purchase this year has been an oversized white button down shirt (from Tally Weijl). Besides the fact that I'm scared to wear it for fear of spilling something on it...I am excited for all the ways that I can wear and accessorize it for the rest of winter and spring!

I also like this Swarovski magnolia pendant. Ever since I moved to Switzerland last November it's been Swarovski this, Swarovski that - I mean they had a chandelier in the Luzern train station and a Christmas tree in the Zurich one! So naturally I was curious of them - had to look...consequently fell in love with a few things, you know how it goes =)

You would think with all of the pretty new spring designs at Coach I would find ones more interesting to be my favorites but I guess I tend towards the classic, I think I would get tired of the other patterns too quickly! Do you have a favorite brand for purses and wallets?

I think these hallways are put together so nicely. I have a long hallway that is in need of some decorating - but it is so hard to incorporate the styles that I have learned to love from all of the amazing decorating blogs I read in to my contemporary Swiss apartment...they are all about modern this and modern that and it's hard to go vintage with floor to ceiling windows, black granite kitchen and the massive amount of space (I know that sounds awful doesn't it)...but seriously...I'm having a hard time decorating and making our apartment feel like home...I suppose it will eventually come around :)
