Cowls are the new black

Tuesday, October 26, 2010

I am loving the idea of cowls or eternity scarves lately - they would solve my problem of where to put the ends of the scarves? Do you have that problem? Maybe I didn't get the memo? Idk. Either way they are cool. And look, I even found some for the men...

there is nothing cozier than a cowl (or as i like to call them, a snood!), my mum made me a beautiful cashmerino one last year and it kept me so warm through one of london's coldest winters!

I have been wondering how to make them..if its all one size or parts of it are a bigger opening at the time. Very cool...or should I say warm..that's need in winter, here.

Was just thinking about sending one up to my daughter who moved from home (Phoenix, AZ) to Seattle and is feeling the chill. I like #1 and the last one on the right, mens or no, very cute.

yes! the ends of scarves become so annoying and they never seem to lay right. ARGH! but yes, like you said, cowls may be the end of that!
Have a great Tuesday!

great blog & cute cowls but your previous post grabs me more! love the idea of walking into a time capsule such as this parisien appartment; how poignant, poetic & wonderful. i live in northern france and work as an artist /antique dealer and dream of stumbling into a forgotten haven...

i love # 6! I also love the new layout :)

hehe that's true! I normally tuck it into my coat so these would be much more useful rather than the weird bulge I get in my coat haha...Although sometimes I do like the dangling ends . hehe
These are really pretty!

I'm all about the cowls. I bought a few last year, my fave is a black oh so cuddly yet chic one, that I broke out about a month ago. Love!!!

At first I read the title as "cows are the new black" which didn't make nearly as much sense. Cowls are much more comfortable to wear.

I love the look of cowls - but worry that I can't pull them off with my short neck!

I love cowl necks! So flattering!!!! They had the best one at Anthropologie that I picked up last year. I got the last one!

I love cowels necks. I wanted an eternity scarf last winter but never got one until just last week. It hasn't been cool enough to put it to use yet but I'm so looking forward to wearing it.

I love these kinds of scarves!! I swear by them!

Cool scarves! These are so cute and make the cold weather not so bad :)

My favorite part is being able to stick your mouth behind the fabric and blow hot air. Warms you right up. Is that strange? Yes you're right it is...

i love the one Kelli made and gave me! i think its almost time to get it out of the closet this year.

cleverrrr

I just got one as well. they are super cozy and I love that they don't come undone like some ways when you tie a scarf and on end goes flying in the breeze.

I think #3 and #7 are pretty darn cute. And neither of them are expensive!

the whole cowl phenomenon is hilarious to me -- i made a bunch a while ago b/c i'm kind of crazy and LOATHE when the ends of scarves drag on the ground, or get caught in a door, or something else equally icky.

just wish i'd had the foresight to start selling them earlier. :P

love that yellow one tho.

I just bought my first cowl a few weeks ago, and I've worn it almost every day. It's easy to throw on, looks great, and it super warm and cozy. It's my must for this winter!
