My Wardrobe Weekend Project...

Wednesday, July 28, 2010

Besides the fact that I love the rain - I'm also glad that it rained last Saturday because staying inside gave me the incentive to get this project out of my head.
We bought this wardrobe used - and then there is blue-ish bedding...and gold curtains - and really....I'm just not a primary colors kind of girl but I don't know how it happened!
So now that it's fresh and white I'm thinking new curtains (hi mark!) and now I can feel free to figure out some wall art (suprising how much a red wardrobe stopped me from decorating...)

Do you have any suggestions??

(and thanks to Bama (like as in alabama) for making an appearance this dog is never over 5 feet away from me I swear he waits at the door for me to finish using the bathroom but I love him so so so much!)

Oh, I love this! You did such a good job. My wardobe was a wood antique that my sister sanded down and painted white :)

Looks much better! How about just going very glamorous with black and gold? Or for a low-key look just white and blue, or for something quirky teal and red but in small doses.
I'd search etsy for cute prints and frame them!

You did an amazing job!! I totally thought it was a built-in even though you mentioned this wardrobe last week.

I like the blue and gold that remains in the room! Call me crazy? And the chandelier is awesome too.

Can't wait to see what you put on the wall! Great job lady!

Carrie

i really like it!! i feel like you should put some really amazing wall decal on the white space next to it. like an old oak tree with sparrows or something intricate and beautiful like that. or maybe a wall of mismatched frames and neat pictures??? ooooh i cant wait to move and get to redecorate! hehe.

I am not too big on primary colours too...Love what you did...I think a cool black and white framed poster would look amazing....I have one from IKEA in my bedroom and I love it:)

Wow it's amazing how one thing can create such a big change...your room looks loads brighter and bigger with the white instead of red. I know Urban Outfitters does some cool wall art, or why not buy some canvas and paint your own?

Great job! What a difference a coat of fresh white paint makes! My advice would be to take your time picking out art. I am currently working on a picture wall and it's taking me months to find the perfect pieces, but it will be worth it!

Great job! It really opens up the room!

Seriously, I think my dog thinks he's my boyfriend. A clingy boyfriend who follows me around everywhere and wants detailed descriptions of everywhere I've been. ;)

WOW! What a difference ... I love the clean, fresh feeling of white. My daughter is so good at decorating that I have her come in and add some splashes of color in my otherwise white house - my decorating ability: not so much. Can't do it, but I DO appreciate it in others!

You could buy some fabric and stretch it over a canvas stretcher from an art supplies store to make a wall panel! I'm thinking of doing that in our apartment.

MARTHA said...

white looks good! looks pure and dreamy.. you could put some other light color to it as well and it will still look good, some pastels like light purple light blue and colors like that :) i also wanted to paint my room a dif color! so cool you got to do it!

yes...it's hard to decorate with other colors when you have red in the room, since red always steals the show! Although I loved red, I like the freshness of your room now :)

Looks great! Maybe you could make your room all white? I'm a HUGE fan of all white rooms. Then you could add random pops of colour with wall decals, framed photos, or cushions on your bed.

PS. Your dog is adorable.

Incredible transformation! It's amazing how it went from a cute room to a glamorous room with just a coat of paint.

I really hope you keep the gold curtains. I think the blue and gold are so pretty together!
